Molding

August 31st, 2018

The precast event has now ended. This summer, many of you visited the gallery to see André’s new clay sculptures. It has been a real pleasure to welcome you all. The transformation of the two sculptures has officially started. Our master-molder and friend Christophe has settled in Magog for a few days to oversee each step of the creation of the molds. First, the sculptures were cut to prepare for the wax casting. Then, 5 layers of silicone were applied, followed by the creation of the green silicone cord that will serve to open the mold. After, Christophe and André worked on the plaster shells that will protect and solidify the silicone. The molds will be on their way to the foundry shortly and the transformation work will continue. Everything is good!
